Freaky ATM PIN

What could be worse than using your ATM PIN for twice in the morning at around 11AM, and forgetting it by 12PM at noon? It was freaky.
I freaked out the moment I realized that I totally forgot my ATM pin, which I used an hour back to buy some medicines for my friend. The problem was that, I didn't have it recorded at anywhere, and also, I was not mindful of sharing it with anyone, and therefore, I forgot it completely.
Now, the problem to me was not that I forgot my ATM pin, because I was sure that I would be able to retrieve my ATM card, if I raise a complaint to my bank, or use that forgot my pin option and reuse my ATM card, but my basic problem was that how I could even forget that four numbers which I didn't have any problem in using some minutes back.
I started using this bank account two years back, and I have never faced this kind of a situation every since then, but that day, my brain went blank. There is no back story to it. I wasn't upset that day, nor was I preoccupied with some random thoughts. I was only focusing on what I was doing, and therefore I don't have a valid excuse.
After trying so hard to recollect my ATM pin, I ended up blocking my very own ATM card, and my bank sent me text messages saying that someone else is using my card, and they are using the wrong pin. It was a warning from my bank, but little did they know, that that particular someone else who was using a wrong pin was me.
I had to locate a nearby ATM of the bank where I have my account, and request for a pin reset. When I walked into the bank, I realized that I could easily recollect my PIN, and the problem that I faced earlier was because I was trying to type the pin on my computer, and that was the reason for my struggle. My brain had it easy when I had to type the pin on a standard ATM number pad, but got messed up when I had to recollect it to type through a laptop keyboard where the number alignment is straight.
That's when I realized who my brain adapted to the easy way out. It didn't really memorize the numbers of my pin, but rather the pattern. When this makes sense to ATM pin, it also makes sense to our lifestyle. We look for an easy way out from any situation, though it might be crooked and not procedural. But, the question is, will that easy way out that we decided to hold on to, will it help us at all circumstances?
Sometimes, things are better when it is done the right way!
