From when did ambulance require advertisements? It surely did shock me when I saw an ambulance that advertised itself. It was day of heavy traffic, and everyone were in a hurry as I could see. The sun was scorching, and nobody liked it. I was literally being roasted by the sun, and I was indeed deperate to find some shade. Each and every traffic signal was my regret. But, I was bound to not disrespect the traffic signals.
I wanted to reach home and sit in some shade. In the middle of all the hhrry in one of the hotspots of Chennai, I could see some people panicking on seeing an ambulance. On the other hand, I also noticed some being super ignorant of the siren sound from the ambulance. Now, I was at an absolute hurry, but I absolutely didn't want to reach home at the cost of someone else's risk. So, I wanted the ambulance to move in front of me, and therefore, I let the ambulance to go front.
But, the ambulance was caught in traffic, and it had to wait for the signal to turn green. Now, that road has around 10 traffic signals, and I was sure that it was going to be a hectic task for the ambulance driver to take the patient to the hospital in such a situation in the road. Some signals had traffic policemen there, who allowed the ambulance to move even when the signal was red. Some people took advantage of the situation, and moved along with the ambulance and crossed the red signal. It was a bit of shock and surprise for sure.
Now, there was this particular signal where the ambulance had to wait for the signal to turn green. I was at the back of the ambulance, and this time the signal was a little long, long enough for me to read the digital scroll, and it was intriguing. It was a perfect advertisement for the ambulance. It read that it has wonderful features with 99% germ free facilities.
I belong to this old school, where people would prefer not to have any misfortunate situations where they have to opt for an ambulance. I belong to this old school, where people, during emergency, would not look for the best ambulance, but only panic enough to get an ambulance. For me, who belongs to the perfect old school, an advertisement for an ambulance was indeed a shock.
